DEVELOPMENT OF DOMESTIC TOURISM: YOUTH PROPOSALS AND SOLUTIONS
In a recent episode of the intellectual program “Azamat”, issues related to the development of domestic tourism and effective ways to stimulate it were discussed. During the broadcast, students from two universities held debates, presenting concrete proposals and solutions.
Taking part in the program were students from Karagandy University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, who presented initiatives aimed at contributing to the further development of the industry.
The students from Karagandy highlighted that in recent years Kazakhstan has seen steady growth in domestic tourism. They emphasized the need to develop ethnotourism for foreign guests — living in a yurt, horseback riding, and getting acquainted with the nomadic lifestyle.
Students from Atyrau University proposed focusing primarily on retaining funds that are currently spent abroad. The jury awarded the victory to the Atyrau University team. They stood out with a systematic approach, reliance on reliable data, and realistic, practically applicable initiatives. The judging panel included the founder of the Qazaq Debate movement Yerbolat Mukhamedzhan, domestic tourism expert Almas Maratuly, and the Kazakhstan coordinator of the International Debate Education Association Ualikhan Turarbekuly.
