Kazakh Tourism and Astana Concert will jointly develop event tourism

Kazakh Tourism and Astana Concert are joining efforts to develop event tourism in Kazakhstan. The parties have signed a memorandum of cooperation and intend to attract tourists through large-scale events. It is expected that over 18,000 international guests will visit Kazakhstan this year for a world-class music event.

Major cultural events — festivals, concerts, and international shows — will become key attractions for a global audience. The synergy between the two companies fosters sustained interest in the country’s tourism potential.

«At Kazakh Tourism, we will establish a task force involving tour operators to prepare and promote global concerts both in Kazakhstan and abroad. Every large-scale concert or festival brings in thousands of guests who boost demand for tourism infrastructure — hotels, dining establishments, transport — and increase interest in local handicrafts and business services. All of this directly impacts tourist flows, the development of tourism infrastructure, and local budget revenues», - emphasized Daniyar Serzhanuly, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC «Kazakh Tourism».

This year, Astana Concert will organize a large-scale Jennifer Lopez concert in two cities of Kazakhstan. The event is set to become one of the biggest music events in Central Asia. According to preliminary data, the southern capital is expected to welcome visitors from 29 countries.

«We see that world-class events generate tremendous interest among tourists from all over the world. As the President has noted, tourism must become a new driver of economic growth for the country. We are confident that this first large-scale event — the Jennifer Lopez concert — will be an important step in positioning Kazakhstan as a hub for event tourism, not only in Central Asia but across the entire CIS», - said Malik Khasenov, producer at Astana Concert.
