Kathy Leach: «The UK adopted the concept of yurt glamping from Kazakhstan»

Yurt tourism is rapidly developing in the UK, offering travelers a unique glamping experience. This was shared by the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kathy Leach, during an exclusive podcast hosted by the Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «Kazakh Tourism» Kairat Sadbakassov, titled "Born Bold. Travel Boldcast."

In the interview, the diplomat emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism and the concept of glamping, which has minimal impact on nature.

«One of the challenges in this field is how to make tourism sustainable. I believe that there are several types of tourism that have a low impact on nature. It is in this area that we have really adopted an important concept from Kazakhstan – the entire idea of glamping, glamorous camping, which has become popular in the UK. This includes yurts», - said Kathy Leach.

Kazakh yurts are actively used in the UK, allowing foreigners to connect with nature while minimizing their environmental footprint. The Ambassador highlighted that such projects help make tourism more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

«Now in the UK, we have yurts offering people glamorous camping and the opportunity to visit beautiful places with less impact on nature compared to building large hotels. I believe that the yurt is a great example of sustainable tourism with a low impact», -  she added.
