Kazakhstan Strengthens Its Position in the Global Wellness Economy Market
The volume of Kazakhstan’s wellness market reached 9.21 billion USD in 2023, and the country ranked 54th in the global ranking among 140 countries. These are the results of the new ranking «The Global Wellness Economy: Country Rankings».
According to the Global Wellness Institute, in 2023 the global wellness economy reached 6.3 trillion USD, with 830 billion USD attributed to wellness tourism.
The global wellness economy ranking covers the period from 2019 to 2023. The study analyzed eleven key segments: spas, thermal/mineral springs, wellness tourism, workplace wellness, wellness real estate, physical activity and mental health, healthy eating, public health, and others.
Kazakhstan has moved up two positions in the ranking compared to 2022. The revenue of the country’s wellness market in 2023 increased by 27.5% compared to 2019.
The Top 5 largest wellness markets in the world include the USA, China, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Neighboring countries in the ranking include Uzbekistan (82nd place), Azerbaijan (83rd place), and Kyrgyzstan (115th place).
