Euronews to showcase the tourism potential of the Almaty mountain cluster

The European television channel Euronews will present a new episode of the program Modern Nomads dedicated to Kazakhstan’s winter tourism potential. The episode will air in February this year, will be broadcast in 11 languages, and will reach an international audience in more than 160 countries worldwide.

Kazakh Tourism, together with the Shymbulak Ski Resort, Ile-Alatau National Park, and Auyl Restaurant, provided support in organizing and conducting the filming.

The program focuses on the infrastructure and development of the Almaty Mountain Cluster. The Euronews production team visited one of Central Asia’s leading winter resorts — the Shymbulak Ski Resort. The episode will showcase modern cable car systems, slopes of varying difficulty levels, as well as tourism infrastructure facilities across the entire resort area.

Special attention is given to the scenic landscapes of Big Almaty Lake, one of the region’s most recognizable natural landmarks.

The gastronomic potential of Almaty will be represented by Auyl Restaurant, which has been included in the reputable international 50 Best Discovery selection. Viewers will be introduced to a contemporary interpretation of national cuisine and Kazakhstan’s gastronomic traditions.

The total audience of Euronews exceeds 400 million viewers. The broadcast of the program will allow a wide international audience to become more closely acquainted with Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for winter tourism.
