Event tourism is steadily developing and attracting business interest in the implementation of large-scale projects. The launch of Solana City is planned in Astana.
As early as May, the organizers will hold major concert events in the cities of Astana and Almaty featuring world-famous stars. The performers will include Flo Rida, Nicole Scherzinger, Tyga, Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, Keri Hilson, as well as a special guest whose name will be announced closer to the event date.
“Kazakh Tourism will establish a task force with the participation of tour operators to develop packaged tourism offers. This will allow guests from the regions of Kazakhstan and from foreign countries to combine attending concerts with excursions and exploring natural attractions. This model has already proven its effectiveness and was successfully applied last year,” noted Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC ‘Kazakh Tourism’” Daniel Serzhanuly.
It is expected that the total number of spectators in each city will be around 30,000 people. Foreign tourists from India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, and the Russian Federation have already purchased tickets for the events.
“The Solana City project will bring together international-level events in a single area. Outside of festivals and concerts, the tourism city will operate year-round for residents and visitors of the country. The project includes the placement of ethno-yurts, campsites, glamping facilities, the development of gastronomic spaces, craft zones, and art installations. The implementation of the project will create up to 1,000 new jobs,” noted CEO of Solana, Zhanar Baigozina.
