Kazakhstan’s best beaches of the 2025 season announced
With the end of the beach season, the results of the national program «Üzdik Jaghazhaj» have been summed up. The competition was initiated by Kazakh Tourism with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken» and is aimed at improving service and safety standards at the country’s water facilities.
In 2025, more than 30 beaches from different regions of Kazakhstan, including both private and municipal ones, were submitted for consideration by the expert commission. The evaluation was carried out according to the national standard ST RK 3013-2017, taking into account specific criteria of the international Blue Flag program. The selection considered water safety, sanitary conditions and infrastructure, the presence of lifeguards and medical stations, the convenience of water access, territory layout, regular water quality monitoring, and ecological initiatives such as separate waste collection, the use of solar showers, and eco-educational activities.
Based on the assessment of the expert commission, the TOP-3 best beaches of Kazakhstan were identified:
1. Wyndham Garden Beach (Akmola Region, Burabay village) – 166 points out of 170 possible;2. City Beach No. 5 (Almaty Region, Konaev city) – 145.5 out of 170;
3. Central Embankment (Pavlodar Region, Pavlodar city) – 145 out of 170.
The best beaches are distinguished by their clean and safe water areas, well-developed infrastructure (changing rooms, showers, recreation areas, cafes), family-friendly accessibility, as well as the use of eco-friendly solutions and nature conservation initiatives.
The expert commission also reviewed applications for beaches in Akmola (Shchuchinsk city, Burabayvillage, Zerenda), Kostanay, Mangystau, Atyrau, Karaganda, and Kyzylorda regions. For these, work is planned jointly with regional akimats and the business community to bring them in line with national and international standards.

The Top-3 demonstrates what a modern beach should be: safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly», - noted acting chairman of the management Board of NC Kazakh Tourism JSC, Daniel Serzhanuly.
The «Üzdik Jaghazhaj» program will become an annual initiative.
