In search of new routes, the countries of the Benelux are discovering Mangystau. Popular publications in Belgium and the Netherlands have presented Kazakhstan to a foreign audience as an attractive tourist destination. The publications focus on the expedition potential and unique natural landscapes of the Mangystau Region.
The Dutch magazine Travel Book devoted a separate feature to the Mangystau Region and Astana. The issue’s cover, featuring landscapes of the Kyzylkup area, became the visual highlight of the edition. The article mentions breathtaking sights such as Bozzhira, Torysh, and Kyzylkup. The magazine is distributed in the Netherlands and Belgium.
«Mangystau is often compared to Mars or the Moon - and not without reason. The landscapes here are simply otherworldly. These are landscapes that cannot be compared to anything else, and when you stand right in the middle of them, you can utter only one word: wow. The most spectacular places are Bozzhira, Kyzylkup, and Torysh. In the Bozzhira Valley, everything is white: gorges, mountain peaks, and rocks of bizarre shapes. The Kyzylkup Gorge, also called the Tiramisu Mountains, by contrast, is very colorful, with shades of pink, red, and terracotta. But the most amazing place is the ‘Valley of Balls’ (Torysh), where thousands (!) of almost perfectly round stones are scattered», - notes the author of the article, sharing his personal travel experience.
The Belgian lifestyle magazine Papillio also presented the Mangystau Region to its readers as an attractive destination with rare landscapes. With a circulation of about 280,000 copies, the magazine emphasizes the natural uniqueness of Kazakhstan.
Visual stories about the region also appeared on the international platform She Is Not Lost. This is an international community that brings together women travelers.
